On a side note, on one the best aromatic smokes I’ve had was from a dried out decade old pouch of CB cherry.
I was checking the prices on the OTC tobaccos at the drug store the other day, and Captain Black in the pouch was going for $12, meanwhile most cigarette brands can still be gotten for under $5 a pack. Seemed a little excessive to me.
My biggest problem with Captain Black was the humectant in it. It always seemed to leave my mouth dry and sore feeling... but the flavor is good, maybe a little monochromatic though.
When I think about our OP, someone who represents economically many of the mass of people whom make Turkey their home, access to any tobacco at an affordable price is a challenge, especially for a young man. This is a smoker who has started his journey with a Chinese pipe made of acrylic, moved onto a pipe made of Walnut that is charring, and had no idea that meerschaum pipes were anything but tourist attractions.
I think for many on this forum, the realities of most people are so far removed that it is difficult to imagine how an older pouch of Captain Black Cherry is magic. And yet, for many it is.
When I was a broke college student, Lane 1Q was sheer magnificence. My own blend that I smoke has a lot of BCA in it. It isn't that I just love Lane BCA so much that I must use it as a mixer in my own blend, but it brings back memories of having a few smokes with friends between classes, working, and realizing that there was not time for much else.
What a kick it would be to send the OP a simple well made briar pipe with some good Virginia tobacco or a nice mild English blend. It would be like the heavens opened up and reigned down Tupelo honey on fresh from the oven plate of biscuits.
If I'm not wrong there are Domestic Pipe tobaccies in Türkey available at fairly affordable prices as well

I swear, I think quite frequently that you and Briar Lee are the same person, because this long winded responses, while not as folksy or trite, still seems to ramble and ramble after you posted that you were replying to me, but in which you say nothing in actual response to my post.
I made no comment, nor do I have any idea, what someone in Turkey may have to pay for tobaccos. I merely replied to your post concerning this tobacco being "affordable to most," and I was merely saying that for most, it is rather expensive compared to other tobaccos at the same quantity in which this one is sold.

LOL. The problem with replies are that they really aren’t necessarily about a reply to the individual as much as they are a starting point for something else. Not always the case, but if Ty it is. As we discussed a while back, the reply button can be misleading in the intent. As an example, your reply to me has nothing to do with biscuits. And yet you still replied, LOL.

Right? but this is true.
50gr is 126₺ = 6,76 $ sounds like cheap but its not for turkish people.
Which the author of the book has stated that he actually didn't have a horrible time in Turkish prison but the publishers insisted he spice it up a lot.
When I was in Antalya this summer, I couldn’t find pipe tobacco anywhere. Except for one shop, where the guy pulled a mislabeled box of the shelf that concealed a few pouches of Captain Black Grape. I was asked to pay cash with no receipt. It seemed strange at the time, but makes sense now.
