In the semi-rural NorthEastern USA
I only have four pipes that don't have any pits. The two meers, the cob, and my Lumberman which has rustication in a few places (one way to fix pits :).) Now every single one of those pits only stands out to a person like us who really will spend some time really enjoying the details of a pipe. :)

About 6 or 7 years ago I paid 80 dollars for this Rossi. The dark shellac finish started to bubble off in about 4 bowls, so I took acetone to the whole thing to make it natural.

This is what I got.
