I won't put restrictions on my collection. Life is too short.
Having said that I don't have a large collection by any means. I will however, always add to it when I see something I want and have the means to pursue it. There is still a long list of pipes I would like to add. Of course, there always will be

Yup, the foreseeable end of my collection is inasmuch as I'm not immortal.

The lack of money has stopped PAD for me but I have a stash of tobacco that will last me a decade or more and more wonderful pipes than I smoke in a year. Sure, I'll buy a pipe or tobacco now and again but I'm pretty much done with collecting...for now.

After more thought, it's not the foreseeable end we all face, it's the unforeseen, the onset of health problems, financial reverses, etc. I sometimes wonder about.
There will come a time for all of us when we suddenly and, no doubt with resignation, realize that we have purchased our last pipe. Worse is the realization that we might have enjoyed our last bowl.
