I miss the old Erinmore. It used to have enough nicotine in it, that it sat my ass down on the street one time while I was walking the dog. Now... it's just like... another hum drum tobacco, but a good tasting one.
they all suck..Can you ask the mods to delete your post? RDH has suddenly assumed near unicorn status. Last drop, my two most reliable sources for GH got none. I had to beg a seller who normally breaks down to sell by ounces to sell me a whole 500g bag. You really aren’t doing anybody who likes the blend any favors.
In fact, given the present supply issues, any discussion of GH tobacco should be banned. As a fan of 35 years, I can say with complete confidence that most of you won’t like them. Bob’s Chocolate is particularly foul to the uninitiated. I have jars and Mylar bags of GH and SG stashed all over the house (but, alas, only about a pound and a half of RDH)and the EPA has declared it a Superfund clean up site.

Seriously, I never thought I would live long enough to see this. I am reminded of 1992. I picked up a copy of the very first issue of Cigar Afficianado at LAX on my way back to Florida where I then lived. That issue ranted and raved about how good made in Miami La Gloria Cubanas were. I had less than a box of Charlemagne’s and a box plus of Wavell’s. It was damn near six months before I could get another full box. At twice the price. I kind of got a hoot, though, out of being ahead of the curve back then. But not now. Definitely not now.
The Fruit in Juicy Fruit - http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2015/03/fruit-juicy-fruit/ If you read this you might suspect what the mystery "fruit" in Erinmore is just like I have. It's a faint hint of juicy fruit gum. Not dissimilar to what I had posted about FVF, except this is closer to the actual Juicy Fruit Gum flavoring... but yes, it is very subtle.
I think that it makes it even better, Juicy Fruit that is. I'd rather have a pure chemical make the flavorings, than what makes strawberry or raspberry flavorings in hard candy. Those come from anal glands of beavers. The Fruit in Juicy Fruit - http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2015/03/fruit-juicy-fruit/ If you read this you might suspect what the mystery "fruit" in Erinmore is just like I have.
Mmm, Isoamyl Acetate, the banana & bubblegum flavor in young whiskey! Interestingly (to me anyway), jackfruit is in the same family of pseudo-fruit flowers as figs. I'd bet with the triple distillation process of Irish Whiskeys, Isoamyl Acetate would be an abundant and cheap flavoring option there. The Fruit in Juicy Fruit - http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2015/03/fruit-juicy-fruit/ If you read this you might suspect what the mystery "fruit" in Erinmore is just like I have.
This. Both styles use strong African tobaccos, which have their own unique character,
That makes sense. Otherwise, why put a pineapple in your graphic when it doesn't have pineapple in it?This.
As to Erinmore, a former member who was banned here has posted elsewhere internal correspondence that came out during the tobacco litigation and has been preserved in a searchable (with some difficulty) datatabase maintained by the University of California San Francisco library. It shows that older versions of made in Ireland Erinmore did in fact contain pineapple flavoring. The makers now say it doesn’t, but it did.
absolutely.. I think the topping/casing of Erinmore has been solved.Mmm, Isoamyl Acetate, the banana & bubblegum flavor in young whiskey! This just blew my mind! I've eaten dozens of jackfruit in Jamaica when I've visited my grandparents. Sad to say I have never thought about juicy fruit but I could never get enough. Now that it's mentioned I could definately see why they say that. Now I want to get some Erinmore haha! The Fruit in Juicy Fruit - http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2015/03/fruit-juicy-fruit/ If you read this you might suspect what the mystery "fruit" in Erinmore is just like I have.
When I really started learning how to smoke a pipe circa 1979, Erinmore and Mixture 79 were the only two tobaccos I can recall being specifically warned to never smoke in a briar pipe. My first recollection of hearing about the salt treatment was in connection with a friend saying he had done it four times on one pipe he had smoked a half tin of Erinmore in before he exorcised - mostly- the ghost., but I don't suspect Erinmore would be a big ghoster.

if you want to know what lakeland scent is get some of the snuffs by those companies. It's certainly it's own thing.
And, you have to diversify, add in some MeeMaw's little pink rose soaps, some in the shapes of hearts and birds. Every time I smell it, I think of her pink shag carpet and enema bottle hanging in the tub. Ahhh, memories...Or just open up a box of Dove hand soap and inhale. Visualize tobacco as the substrate to this smell, and you know what Lakeland is.
