The Model 66-4 is one of my favorites and has one of the slickest triggers on a revolver I've ever had...and, it doesn't have that stupid lock!

It's too bad that when S&W decided to "police themselves", they didn't build in a convenient way for savvy gun owners to De-Nanny their firearms. I'm sure many S&W owners would have appreciated that.

Oh, but there is a way. There's a device called "The Plug" that fits in the "Hilliary Hole" after you grind off the little leg on the inside. I read about it at the Smith and Wesson forum about six months or so ago. Doesn't harm a thing and there's no chance of the lock activating at the worse possible time.

I think Hilliary and Monica's boyfriend had a lot to do with it intimidating S&W and of course the Brady Bunch had a hand in it to no doubt.

I think they'd get a charge out of it. I can hear Billy boy now, "I did not have sex with Smith and Wesson".

Got my new fiber optic sights dialed in. My best shots of the day were 2 clothes pins at 15yards. Here was the one I found, no idea where the other landed.

edit: Just thought I would add, my Dad had to buy me lunch for this one. He loaded my 8 round mag and bet me I couldn't hit one before it was empty. I missed the first two shots and hit the two clothes pins with 3 and 4. :nana:

For that he should have taken you to Red Lobster. I probably couldn't see much of a clothes pin at 15 yards. I went to the range this morning to find out some guy about 25 tried to commit suicide a few weeks ago there. He rented a pistol, went into one of the lanes and stuck the pistol under his chin. It came out above the cheek bone and he managed to survive this one. Glad I wasn't there when that happened.

Unfortunately this has happened on more than one occasion. Same thing happened at one of my local ranges a few years ago. Now they don't rent guns to anyone who is by themself. I guess they figure you won't kill yourself in front of someone you know. Also they don't allow head shots on targets. That's just too PC for me.
BTW: Great shooting Grizzly!

S&W Model 60LS .357 mag. Probably the nicest birthday gift I ever gave to my wife
Lady Smith's are nice guns. They're made in revolvers and autos. Five shots but so are Ruger SP-101's.

I'm into Cowboy Action Shooting, so my safe is stocked with a lot of single action revolvers, lever rifles, and shotguns. Just bought a pair of Uberti Cattlemen in .44-40, planning to shoot an unofficial category called "Pale Rider Gunfighter". Full load .40+ caliber black powder loads in revolvers and rifle (replica of Colt Burgess rifle) and full BP shotgun rounds. Gonna be letting loose some fire and smoke!

Anyone know anything about Cimmaron SA revolvers? I've been eyeballing a couple of those Thunderers with the bird head grips and 4-3/4" barrels for some time now. In .45LC, of course!
@baronsamedi, not sure if you got an answer to your question. Cimmaron is an importer of Uberti guns, as is Taylor's and a few others. Uberti makes a decent gun, and they are used extensively in Cowboy Action Shooting. Their internal actions are not finished to the extent Ruger or many of the other domestic makers do, but they hold up to our cowboy shooting, which is fairly extensive, albeit not necessarily to the accuracy of some sports. Uberti apparently akes the position that their guns will likely get an action job so they don't put the effort into making the actions smooth. That being said, I have noticed newer productions, as well as those from Pietta (another Italian replica maker) are much better than those of a few years back. They all benefit from action jobs, to whatever extent you prefer, and, thanks to Sam Colt's design, are relatively easy to work upon.
I have several of Uberti's guns, and am happy with them, after action jobs, of course.
My opinions only, YMMV.
Edit: forgot to mention that the Thunderers have a slightly different Bird's head grip than the traditional bird's head grip. I find it to be an improved design over those originals.
