Interesting Completed Ebay Auctions - British Pipes

A certain flightless bird suggested I post this here due to its interesting stamps.

PETERSON'S PRE REPUBLIC MADE IN ENGLAND 312 SYSTEM PIPE STERLING SILVER | eBay

As it stands I see this pipe as in good condition for it's age and a blast to the past at the classic Peterson look. The chamber is fairly sound. I detected no burn out or fissures. The stem shows very minor oxidation.

This Shamrock is clearly a 9BC, but does not have the shape stamp.
It went for $135, a little pricey for a Shamrock that is missing the shape stamp.

Could be that someone liked that it didn't have the shape stamp as a rare oddity.

I put in an offer, which was declined, then I rec'd an email from Ebay saying that the item sold for that amount.

Much older with the very rare clover and rugby-ball stem logo.
Looks to be in fine condition, with only moderate stem oxidation.
Very very masculine and sweet. With Dunhill inner tube ?
Finish looks to be rusticated and then sandblasted with a very gentle "touch ".
I'm chuffed to bits.

Seller sent it insured.
This pipe is so very rare, now it is even more

Two part epoxy-, or medium viscosity super glue ?

Hello Jeff,
It was boxed, packed in bubblewrap and plenty polysterene loose fill.
The German seller is experienced in shipping pipes.
Most Italian sellers ship in a flimsy envelope, no matter you ask them not to.
Always turned out fine and now this happens with a so rare pipe.

Why would someone, for instance a DHL person, do such a horrible thing ?
I think the box got stuck between something, large tear in it too. Must have happened with force to bend the tube, though it occured to me that the alu. is quite soft and plyable
Packed the remains separately in bubble wrap and a blister bag to keep it clean and dust free.
Best start contemplating about the repair. Hope George chimes in.

Comoys 286 Disney pipe went for $500.

On the other side of the shank it states “Made in London England.”. The bottom of the shank is stamped with the numbers “286.”. The stem is stamped with the iconic Mickey Mouse head and ears. All of this is in the photos.

The complete lack of damage EXCEPT the twisted clean break means it was almost certainly caused by human hands. The pipe picked up and "folded" to make a statement, somewhere in the shipping / inspection process.
