Here's a rare Dublin Bulldog - first I remember seeing on ebay.

Strange to me that it doesn't show the price. Seller was very happy with the offer and asked if I was sure I wanted to pay that much. It has some chamber damage and a crack in the shank, but looks beautiful now. Retail price on these three WWII-era Shamrocks was $6, as opposed to the normal $3.50 for Shamrocks. The grain I've seen on these is always special, with no fill. Not sure why they got the 'Shamrock' designation.

In hand, it's a shape that seems to make great sense. Maybe it will come back as a POTY?
Who knows. It would be pretty cool if they did, along with some of the other 700 shapes.

I used to joke that the day I found a 777 I would take up my grandad’s legacy as a minister. You may have just saved me…or rather a potential congregation…by snagging that one.

I'm surprised this auction hasn't been mentioned. The two top pipes aren't original to the set, but both are very nice. The bottom two I think are from 1930 - old English 'p'? But the most interesting thing is that the name on the case refers to a Montreal magistrate who had a very interesting Valentine's Day case. Google it.

I dropped a $600 bid that barely made the radar.
