Holy crap Batman! Some impressive prices on cased Barlings!

The pipes and cases are in great condition and the hawkbill at nearly 3 grand is a first for this shape.
Is was a spectacular show for sure and I watched it with great pleasure and wonder.

I was a serious bidder on that billiard in the high 2-figure mark. So close...

This pipe was special - I expected it to go in the $1K range despite condition issues. You just don't see Dunhill figurals often, and especially Vercingetorix. As a Vercingetorix collector I was bummed to not be able to participate, but the new car takes priority (never thought I'd say that).

It was definitely a shocker for me.

I looked at the bidding history and the winners were all solid bidders, none of those creeps with a hundred or more bid retractions who bid only to reveal what maximums other bidders are offering and then retracting their bids.

One of these did have a couple of retractions at around the $800 mark but otherwise the bidding was clean.

Which one? I have two of them.
The one I got from Ken Barnes would get into the low four figures, but 19th century pipes don't get the lofty prices that 20th century pipes get.
That (spectacular) Ken Barnes one. There can't be another of those around.
I think you may be underestimating its worth - just on the prices fetched by a Dunhill magnum recently, and those cased Barlings

Wow, not seeing that Author saved me $3k. That one would have been tough explaining to Mrs. Jones.

Rare Sasieni's continue to do well.

I scored this Comoy's Tradition for a modest $53....
