That’s one cool looking pipe!This pipe was special - I expected it to go in the $1K range despite condition issues. You just don't see Dunhill figurals often, and especially Vercingetorix. As a Vercingetorix collector I was bummed to not be able to participate, but the new car takes priority (never thought I'd say that).

Which one? I have two of them.
The one I got from Ken Barnes would get into the low four figures, but 19th century pipes don't get the lofty prices that 20th century pipes get.
It was definitely a shocker for me.
I looked at the bidding history and the winners were all solid bidders, none of those creeps with a hundred or more bid retractions who bid only to reveal what maximums other bidders are offering and then retracting their bids.
One of these did have a couple of retractions at around the $800 mark but otherwise the bidding was clean.
That (spectacular) Ken Barnes one. There can't be another of those around.
I think you may be underestimating its worth - just on the prices fetched by a Dunhill magnum recently, and those cased Barlings
