I am a new member and not too forum savvy, but I thought this would be an interesting topic of conversation. Talk about how you like to smoke your pipe, what you like to do while smoking, what you like to drink, think about, and how often a day you smoke...
I find myself enjoying my pipe 2-3 times a day. Picked up some trash around our block and the neighbor's yard as well as my own while smoking my pipe--very enjoyable. I love to smoke especially during sunsets and when it is nice outside at night, even in the winter. I have lit up a few times in my man-cave (basement) but I don't smoke indoors anymore as my wife doesn't like any kind of scents in the house (including my incense collection)...not to mention she doesn't know of my new hobby yet. Being unemployed for a while, I find more time during the days or nights while home alone enjoying a pipe with a beer. I enjoy imported wheat beers and Belgian brews...no American "piss" beer for me! Wait...this is a forum for pipes & tobacco...not beer! But the two go great together

I am woodcarver and smoke my pipe when I am carving because it relaxes me and allows me to concentrate on my carving. I have smoked a pipe for so long that I no longer consciously (sp?) think about it as I smoke. It is just second-nature. I also smoke when I am reading and I read a lot.

Welcome to the forum! I, myself, smoke anywhere from 1-3 pipes a day, always after I get home late at night after everyone has gone to bed. I smoke indoors seeing as how I live in a house with a bunch of cig smokers. I am usually either watching a movie, browsing the forums, or dictating notes for new writing projects into my voice recorder. I will also probably be reading my new Kindle while smoking once I get it. I enjoy some fruit juice or a Gatorade when I smoke. Some days, if I have a lot going on or am crunching on a new project, I don't smoke at all.

Hi Joe,
I am somewhat like yourself in that I have the whole day to smoke as I please, but I am retired instead of unemployed. I smoke inside in the den during the winter months. In the garage during the summer. I like to have a cup of hot tea or even a cold coke with me to sip on.

I also enjoy a glass of whiskey or a brandy with my pipe. The aroma and taste just complement the tobacco. Only problem with that is that a bowl last so long, that I find myself having not just one, but two and three, so I don't do that very often. I never liked beer with a pipe. For me a cigar goes better with a beer.

I hope you find employment soon, but in the mean time, enjoy your pipe.

During the week it's only in the evening, 1 to 2 bowls. On weekends it can be anywhere from 2 to 6 a day, depending on what I'm doing. I second nsfisher on activities. ::

I smoke 3-5 bowls a day, but 5 is very rare. I smoke when I am reading or online, as a rule, or when I am alone in the car.

Continually, 10-12bowls a day using 3-4 pipes. Drink A lot of coffee and Pepsi. Hard stuff is Irish or good dark rum. Smoke inside, outside, in the car and in the bar. Beer, Guinness, is good too but liquor is quicker.

Welcome aboard, Joe. I smoke 1-3 bowls a day during my work week, and 3-6 on my weekends(Wednesday & Thursday). I'm usually drinking either coffee or beer with my smokes.

About 4-6 bowls a day. During the day, strong coffee. Evenings, Belgian ales or any porter. Bourbon if I need something stronger.

I typically smoke about 1 bowl a day, usually in the evening. If we've got something going on though I may not get to enjoy my pipe that day.
I'll bring my pipe with me to work once a week or so to enjoy a half bowl on the way in or out... it'd probably be more if I didn't work from home half the time.
I also enjoy working around the yard with my pipe but that doesn't happen so much this time of year.

I generally smoke 1 to 2 bowels a day. Likely will do more when I have more pipes in my rotation. When the weather is sufficiently pleasent I smoke (1)in the smoking allowed outdoor area of my college between lectures (time permitting) or while waiting for my carpoolers to finish for the day; (2) in the evening while walking my dog and/or while sitting on my back porch. I also enjoy smoking my pie in my car (when alone), As the weather gets colder I will be smoking more in my man cave (home office) and anticipate more regular trips to the local B&M. As far as activities, I usually bring my iPad to work on stuff, interact through Facebook or Skype, to read, pursue thie pie forums, etc. During the day I often have coffee with my pipe. in the evening when I am stationary, a Guiness is my beverage of choice. (Porters and stouts and microbrews are my preference, but I think a port might go very well with a pipe.). As for Joe's comment concerning domestic beer, I am sure there must be a use for them, but drinking them isn't it!

Some days one to two bowls. Some days I do not smoke at all, just a toot or 3 of snuff. I dolike to smoke while working in the yard or walking the dog. Drink wise coffee, scotch or beer.

I smoke a bowel or two a day, but it just depends on the day. I usually sit in my shed and read or just hang out. I like to drink coffee and tea with my baccy, but often it's just water, sometimes port.

I've been doing this the last couple of days because I have a lot of projects going on at once and have been very busy with things at work as well. What kind of snuff do you like, Buster? I have been sniffing some Toque Spanish Gem and McChrystals O&G pretty regularly.
