This is some delicious tobacco. I realize its been around a while. Often, I tend to dilute latakia blends. This one straight up is just really nice. I like how the Latakia floats in and out in terms of strength and leaves room for other flavors. For me, too many blends are constantly lat forward and I find that fatiguing. Im definitely going to have to get more!

I've been wanting to try it for some time, but never did because like you said, latakia can be really overwhelming if you mostly smoke virginia based blends.

If you want to try an exceptional VA (predominantly red) with a sprinkle of Latakia, I'd highly recommend GL Pease Laurel Heights if you haven't tried it already. The Lat is there, but in such sparse amounts that it enhances and entices the experience when it does peek-a-boo. I too, find Lat to be usually overwhelming and at times downright disgusting, but Laurel Heights is truly a fine smoking pleasure.

I like it, but prefer their HH Balkan blend a great deal more. It doesn’t have a ton of Latakia in it, maybe no more than 25-30%, if that. You’d have to like burley in an English though because it definitely has that underscoring the experience, more so than HH Latakia Flake. It’s more of an all day English blend.

A few years ago, this was my intro to Latakia - I couldn't get enough. There was peaty Islay malt transitioning into cedar and tea, such wonderful flavours. I killed a Dr Plumb meer-lined pipe with it.

Haven't smoked it in forever; I have a 50g pack cellared and would have smoked it, but HH blends disappeared from the UK so now it's a unicorn here.

It’s good and fairly mild, it’s balanced having Latakia be a key player but allowing room for the other tobaccos to come through.

You can try Old Ironsides from Dan Tobacco for a Lat bomb flake, or avoid it now you know it’s in the same vein but a lot heavier.
