OK, not exactly dating... but she IS living with me.
And it's an inside page, not the cover...
And it's an advertisement, not an article...
Oh well... in affairs of the heart close counts, right?
The lady in question is a jumbo XL Dunhill, and the magazine is Pipes & Tobaccos.
The advertiser was an outfit called Payless Pipes that used to be in Louisiana but is no more. (I think they got nailed by Katrina.)
Interestingly, the pipe was never actually Payless stock. The imagery was provided to them by Dunhill's rep here in the US, Music City Marketing.
She called to me from a table at the St. Louis show in February of 2005, and I quickly fell for her.
Not sure quite why, actually... while the grain is both abundant and interesting it isn't exactly straight; and the shape---what boils down to a tall Pot---isn't exactly sinuous and sexy.
Who knows. The Ways of the Briar are often mysterious in addition to being seductive.
She sure smokes goot though, don'tcha know. Oh yaahhhh. One of my top five.
