The Osterizer can deal with those gerbils. That's one of the wonderful things about a great blender.

Just a point of clarification - Lane isn't the US distributor for Dunhill. That would be General Cigar, which is also part of STG, but is a separate company.

Either McClelland or Peter Stokebye just because I really love their bulk flakes.

Holy Smokes! It was bad enough for my TAD when I ask about specific blends. Now, I have whole new lines of blends to try. I'm going to have to see about getting a sampler of Russ's blends.

Maybe it's because I'm newer to smoking, but I can't imagine the appeal of smoking just one company/blender's stuff. Tobacco isn't expensive enough to make the stagnation worth it.
I'd also like to throw in another variable. I'm 31. If I could cellar up a lifetime supply of stuff being made RIGHT NOW that would be pretty different from choosing from that same company over the course of 40 or 50 years. I'm sure there is a new and promising guy or gal yet to emerge from the pack that would change all our minds in a few years. G.L. Pease seems to be the trendy stuff to smoke right now, but what about in 5 years or 20?
This question is like asking someone to choose just one book or just one food. It makes me seriously (and shamefully) judgmental of the person who could give up the joy of discovery for the comfort of predictability.
And now I'm rambling...

Ahh, Reniaets. There are those choose government careers for stability, and those who risk entrepreneurial lives for the potential greater rewards. Neither choice is innately bad. Both have their rewards. We need both kinds of folks, so we needn't judge them, especially when dealing with hypothetical questions just for fun.
Here's another one. If you were on a desert island, would you prefer the company of Ginger or MaryAnn? :D

Mine would probably be Rattray. Red Rapparee is my favorite blend of all, Old Gowrie is my second favorite Virginia made (behind FVF), and I like the rest of their line especially Highland Targe, Accountants and Marlin Flake.
The other two that were serious contention were McClellands and Samuel Gawith. I love the McClelland Virginias, especially No. 24, but find weakness in most of their Latakia blends (Samovar and Scottish woods definitely excluded). Samuel Gawith's Full Virginia Flake is my favorite flake of all time and I love Navy, and while I like Squadron Leader, it's not at the right amperage for me, nor are their other Latakia entrants.
