The singer song writer Tom Waits started being a codger in his twenties, talking and dressing like an older guy on skid row. He said what drew him in was that the old guys got to wear all the cool hats. Makes perfect sense. If we're being strict, I think 65 years old is the demarkation point, but who is counting? No one's checking codger i.d.'s. It's been years since anyone carded me for the senior discount. About the codger blends, there is some reason many of those brands and blends have been around for a Century.

Hats, just another reason I might not get full codger status. My wife is very discriminating on what hats she approves of on me. She hates the one in my avatar and many others I suggest. Without the hat and suspenders, there might not be enough tobacco to make me a codger. Can’t complain, she’s 100% on-board with the pipe smoking so I’ll tip my hat to that.
