The key to a successful outcome is sticking with post-operative PT, it WILL SUCK. The same goes for knee replacement surgery. Good luck. But, in two weeks, I get a hip replacement.

Have fun with itSkateboard came. Waiting on the helmet. Pads are in. Had to return the helmet, it wasn't certified and I'm sure certified one will be better when my head meets the concrete.

I remember this story, I think he lived in Austin...
God, you're a baby! Give it another 15 years. I started yoga in my 50's and it was one of the best decisions I've made. Resistance bands are great, and I use them daily. Plus, hoisting 40 and 50 pound boxes for the past year hasn't hurt. Make sure you're taking calcium supplements to support bone health. My doctor started me on them several years ago because my bone density was bordering on "light".Did I mention I'll be 56 this year? Bones are brittle and broke couple last few years. Muscles are wasting way. So, I just purchased resistance bands and a bar to work out. And a skateboard and protections. Gotta do something about it before things start to fall off. Off to practice break falls. At least I remember them.
Hope I won't be in a pine box by that time. That's the reason trying to move around again. Try to get off my butt and do something. Harder to do anything longer I wait.God, you're a baby! Walking is ecellent low impact exercise and I get in a few 4 to 5 mile walks a week. Last year my heart and arteries were scanned any everything is clear. I thank a lifetime habit of waking and hiking for that.
Nature is preparing us for the drain, but we don't have to speed the way!
Good luck...I'm sticking with my treadmill. My skatboarding days ended somewhere around 1978.
Those 187 pads are about the best you can get - I wore out a few pairs in my day. For what it’s worth I think some nice soft wheels may make learning a lot more fun- a lot less vibration.
Sure beats stepping on a Lego.I took a pretty good fall after work today. I stepped on a rubber ducky barefooted, tripped over a bottle of Wild Turkey, and then rolled my ankle on a can of Miller Lite. I wasn't wearing a helmet either, I'm just glad that I didn't pack my pipe yet or land on it. Hope you're alright...View attachment 241802
I mean, sure. If it wasn't for the spandex..Mr. Bullet ---
If you're in the mood for some AAA Prime grade off-the-deep-end-ness, keep in mind that the world downhill speed record on a skateboard is a mere 91 mph, and beating it would be super easy. You could be rich and famous next week, in fact.
