Unemployment is bad for any number of reasons, the money of course, but also for the unhappiness it produces, which is almost impossible to avoid.

werebear, in your first post you mentioned your back problems. The only thing that has ever helped my back

is careful, measured exercise. You might even see a professional (M.D. or chiropractor) to get exercises that

won't hurt you. Abdominal muscles hold the vertebrae in position, so exercising the core helps the back, but

you have to do it carefully. You'll get plenty of exercise at work, so you will mostly only need some limbering

and stretching work, but I think this could ease up any pain, and worsening of back problems. Again, congratulations

and stay well.

RE your back, a piece of advice I can give you is "don't bend over" to pick up stuff (boxes, rubbish, a tyre, etc.). Just bend your knees and keep your back straight as you perform this task. This will help you to keep your balance right and will release your back from unnecessary stress.

@mso489, thanks but the problem with my back is the " spare tire", or two lol, that I carry in the front! Honestly my back would be fine if I just lost some weight. I'm hoping having this job will help some of that.

Also, I didn't expect this to go this far. I expected a few congrats and well wishes, and I got that and so much more. Sometimes this forum helps restore my faith in humanity. Thank you all.
