This answer is easy... I have the best taste in tobacco. ?
I was going to say "you," but I was afraid that having been in PM prison, that you may have picked up some bad habits like hiding your tobacco in the backs of toilets or making pipes out of toothbrushes, etc... or maybe picking up spent cigarette butts and crumbling them into your pipes... you never know... puffy

I store all my tobaccos in my prison wallet.

There are a handful here with a sommelier's palate. Jiminks is probably at the top of the pack based on the detailed level of his reviews. As blenders go, both Pease and Russ Oulette have some knockout blends that convince me they are among the best as well. Same for whoever is blending the Gawith Virginia blends. I'm sure there are many more. I just haven't smoked nearly as many tobacco blends as many others here, so am not in a position to say any further.

CBG is an odd one. More incense than grape. Visions of Celephaïs is more grape than CBG is. Chris Morgan said something similar when he found out that he liked it. Here was the beginning of the M79 spiral.

Visions is the worst blend I ever smoked, and it ghosted my cob freehand permanently.

When pondering new blends, I look on tobacco review and see if Jiminks and Pipestud have reviewed it. Even though I have slightly different tastes, after 5+ years I can almost always base whether or not I will like it from their opinions.

Seriously, Pete does know good tobacco. I just don't like to tell him that! rotf He started smoking a pipe before I was born... in fact, about the time the planet Earth was born! And yeah, I'm going to call him and read this to him. I wish he'd join in on this forum more often. He writes reviews at TR under the name "Big Train".

Haha! Jim, you made me literally laugh out loud and spill my ash all over my lap! I'll cheekily query Pete on Saturday afternoon about the ball game, and his recollection of it!

I know he absolutely adores the HU tobaccos, in particular the batches from a few years ago before the blends received some unexpected manipulation. And quite fond also of Solani Aged Burley, F&T Cut VA plug and of course the Mcclelland VAs and orientals.

Ask Pete why it is that he likes Elwood Flake #2 best. Keep a straight face when you do. Play it up a bit like you think it's great he found his nirvana smoke. rotf

Ok real simple, who has the best taste in tobacco on this site.

I guess I'm feeling a bit salty this morning and I know this probably leaves me out of the competition but what in the world is "the best taste in tobacco"?
Do you mean who likes tobacco best? Who can taste the b.s. subtleties that I read in so many tobacco reviews? Who should we listen to when asking "what should I smoke"? What if I like Carter Hall and the guy with the best taste doesn't? Who has the "best taste"? Me or them? The best taste is the most complex 3 words you can put together.
Is that a rant? I can't ever tell.

I think all of what I quoted answered your initial question, in saying that who has the “best taste in tobacco” is subjective. It’s not like there’s a right answer. ?

I know who I tend to agree with the most (and it's not Jiminks). There are a number of posters that have a similar palate as mine that I listen to.
