To quote the great Chuck P, We all are each a delicate and unique snowflake... and I'd like to apologize to anyone who's offended by my lack of offensive statements. I never meant to not be offensive. If only my odor translate electronically (something I'm certain someone's currently working on), your desire for something to be offended by certainly would've been met.

Mr Palahniuk's quote is actually...
"You are not special. You're not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else. We're all part of the same compost heap. We're all singing, all dancing crap of the world."

I hope you're ok snowflake.
Such glib snarkiness is offensive, of course.
It implies that you doubt the legitimacy of the suffering I've suffered from offensive people saying offensive things in an offensive manner offensively.
In related news, this entire thread is perfectly expressed in graphic form by the following short video loop. (I'd refer to it as a ".gif", but anyone named Gifford would likely be offensively offended.)

we have a diverse bunch of folks on the forum with varying ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, and even a few who may be mutants from a distant galaxy...
My cover is blown; time to call the mother ship!

Well cheese and crackers! All I see are stars and that makes me feel like I am missing out on something.

Well, I just read something I never thought I'd read. Someone was offended online, and a conversation took place. Apologies were made, and (internet) friendships restored. I ad thought we had forgotten how to do that in this decade, especially online. Y'all do a number to restore my faith in humanity.

You have absolutely no right to not not be offended. If anyone here is going to be offended by others not not being offended by other members, I'm going to not not take great offense.

I'm a cursing Sailor and I struggled to figure out what Jackswilling was covering up with those asterisks. Given my nautical background the second one read as "jury-rigged" as in a temporary, or jury-rigged, mast (etymology possibly being old French "ajurie" for help/relief or corruption of joury mast, mast for a day from French "jour"). Of course I have not not heard the phrase implied.
But on the note of jury-rigging, it sounds like a split decision whether you should call in the professionals or jury-rig a repair...

> I know that everyone here is obviously not a Christian, but the is the second thread I have seen recently with some brutal offensive language. This seems to be tolerated and possibly even endorsed. Regardless, Jesus, is my Lord and Savior. How about Jew H. Jew or Buddha H. Buddha or Mohammed H. Mohammed or satan h. satan. If we are going to P.C. the forum, why let Christian slurs get a 100% pass?
Has the offending message been purged?
Carefully reading the two posts above yours, I have no idea what you're talking about.

OK - it looks like the original message was edited.
> Just for the record, I am with jackswilling on this. As a Christian, I personally found the OP's Jesus remark offensive and would never offer such a euphemism that I knew would offend others. The OP probably just didn't know that it would.
I'd say that the OP should have been thinking if his message COULD offend others.

Whatever religion (or not) anyone is, there's no excuse for not being conscious of such things.
