Oooh I see these have arrived, now the question is HU Director’s Cut still good… 🤔

I mean ouch $31 it better be… 😮

It also doesn’t show Kentucky listed, and I was fortunate to be gifted some from 2018, and that has Kentucky. I actually thought the Kentucky was it’s Signature...

Hmm Director’s Cut without Kentucky 🤔

We gots to get the Master over here sampling this stuff… 😆

Oh @JimInks I hope you’ll be sampling some of these in the near future, pretty please… :)
I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't still be good. Different doesn't necessarily mean bad (and I don't necessarily know that it's different in any way). And no offense to Jim, but I've stopped trusting anybody else's taste in tobacco and just try what I'm interested in for myself. $31 is for 100g, too, so basically two tins. So the price is not bad at all. Some of the blends are in the $20-25 range, too, which is great.

Hey man, you making me feel like a newbie around here, like I don’t get any of this.. LOL 😝 I’m just messing with ya, thanks for the reply.

P.S. I edited my replies, I wasn’t paying attention to the tin, I explained below…

The images of the Director's Cut tins show Kentucky listed as a component.

Sheesh, need to pay better attention, I was even looking right at it.

I now know why I said this before, about no Kentucky, there was some talk in the past, I can’t remember from where, about a newer recipe without it, that I guess was stuck on my mind instead.

Thanks

P.S. I edited this out of my last replies... :)

What's the deal with the 'old' tins Not being sealed??? Is that for real? Why would a pipe tobacco company not seal their tins?
The “old” tins were the paint can style, so not vacuum sealed. I’ve got tins of HU that have kept their seal for over 5 years so unless you plan on keeping it in the cellar for a very long time it’s not a problem.

I actually like the paint cans as they seal up nicely as I’m working through a tin.

I doubt I'll get any of it to review. And they are beyond any budget that I have so I'm not buying them. I am interested to know how they have changed from when I originally smoked and reviewed them.

Director's Cut has gone at least three versions that I know of. The last time I tried Edward G and Makhuwa was in 2019, and they had changed. A friend who smokes Janneman told me two years ago that it had changed. That's all I can tell you.
