A Zippo won't scorch your rim unless you want it to. A butane lighter will. Remember, we're outside in the wind.

"Zippo won't scorch your rim unless" -- Ain't that, it's lighting my pipe with charcoal starter. Tastes like crap. And, yeah, I know people say just let it burn off for a few seconds. It still tastes like gas.
