2 cobs, 1 clay, 1 morta, 1 meer and 1 briar (which I use the least as it gurgle).

I consider the pipe a tool and I am not interested in collecting them. If I have a pipe I have to use, I am not interested in having a large collection of pipes which get unused.

I am much more interested in tobacco where I have a moderate large diversified variety of tobaccos.

If only we knew the question.
Just shy of 50 here. A quarter of them are in active rotation, another quarter are occasional smokers, another quarter are part of a collection. The others need to be culled.
If push came to shove my 5 best smoking pipes would be easily sufficient.

42. The answer is always 42.
Funny thing about that number is that after going over my collection, that is exactly the number I could not part with. Weird.

I am new to the forum. With over 1200, not sure how many above that. Quit smoking 40 years ago, so now I collect and clean and make my newest additions smoke ready including repairs. Favorites would be old briars, early 20th century. 99% European. Nothing is catalogued, just clear boxes full. If only I could remember where I put a specific one would be wonderful, but alas, I have not found a method of that works.

7 briars, 7+ homemade cobs, 5 homemade hardwood pipes (apple and cherry wood). Three of the cobs and one of the briars (a little old Medico bent bulldog) get used 85-90% of the time though.

Over the past 7+ years I've been smoking pipes I have owned about 80 different pipes; however, many of those have come and gone. I sold many of them as they either weren't good smokers, or I just didn't smoke then much. I currently have 42 pipes.
18 meerschaum pipes

11 briar pipes

13 corn cobs

Enough to have decided I really have little interest in buying another pipe again. Though, if my wife wishes to give me another as a present in the future, who am I to turn her down? :D
