Torch lighters are just waiting to scortch the edges of your bowl. I tried one for a short while. I was very careful but it won in the end and nailed one or two. It was slight and I removed the damage but the torches were religated to the drawer.

Im still loving my Duponts. The feel and action is just about unsurpasessed and I have the tools I need to repair them.

I sold my Old Boy. Great lighter but I liked the Duponts more. In France I can get a used Dupont for the price of an Old Boy so it was no contest.

I've never used a torch for my pipe smoking pleasure.

I recently scored an Eldred Cigar lighter but for the life of me can't get it to work. Does anyone know anyone who repairs them?
Is it a torch? Will it light off another lighter? I assume you’ve tried releasing some gas and/or testing it on high and low. Blow out the burner? I had a lighter that quit working at home at 600 feet but after a trip west through the mountains worked fine again at 3000 feet.

It's a jump spark lighter. I think the coil pack is bad. It does light if I put another lighter to it.
