I'm still relatively new to this hobby so packing is probably not a stable variant as yet, but I've been getting 15/16 bowls per 50g tin of ribbon cut.

This is what I did and got between 3-4 grams on a very specific pipe bowl. So that'd be about 15 bowls. But I sometimes I do half a bowl, and sometimes do different pipes with smaller bowls so...To be pedantic -
Fill a bowl with your chosen tobacco.
Empty it and weigh.
Divide 50gms by that figure, and
Voila - you have your answer.
Simple. And not exactly rocket science

Unless one's scale is really accurate, weighing just one bowl could give misleading results. Better to weigh at least two or three bowls' worth together and take the average before proceeding.

You will get around 15-18 bowls per tin if you’re using group 5 pipes. I almost exclusively smoke small/medium pipes and usually get around 20-25 bowls per tin.
