How Long Does a Pound Last You?

With the right sized pipe, I could probably make a pound last at least twelve hours, if I didn't have to take breaks to eat.

A 2 oz tin lasts me about 10 days. So, a pound should be around 80 days. Call it 2.5 months?

Depends on the pipe size. On average I smoke 30 to 35 bowls a week. So about 3 weeks i guess.

I doesn't last as long as it ought to. I try not to think about the frightening rate I go through tobacco.

I smoke roughly a bowl a day. Some days are more but during the winter that balances out due to some days not smoking at all. I estimate each bowl smoked is about 3 grams give or take.

365 days X 3 grams a day = 1095 grams
1095 grams = 2.41 lbs smoked a a year.

At this rate my cellar will last me only 8 years or so

I like the math here. To put it into bowls per pound of tobacco:

1 ounce= ~28g
1 pound= 28g x 16= ~448g
if average bowl = 3g
1 pound of tobacco= ~150 bowls (448/3)

I'm still finding my way as to how much I will smoke, but I would imagine no more than 2-3 bowls per week. So that could put me right at about a pound per year, at the high end.

I’m on the slow end of the scale. I probably smoke about 2 tins a year, so it would take me about 4 years to smoke a pound. On the bright side, I don’t need a large cellar to last me a life time. I have started smoking a bit more often since joining this forum... ?

I'm at about a pound every 5 weeks. Feels like I'm never going to build a cellar big enough at this rate.

Years ago I would have said about a month and a half, give or take. Nowadays I don't smoke nearly as much as I used to and I'm strictly an outdoor smoker. So it could take about 8 months to a year, depending on season and weather.

For me, depending on the “goings-on” in my life... it would be between 4 weeks and 8 weeks.... so.... 6 weeks would be a happy medium.... or at least a rough estimate.

Smoking a bowl or two a week, I'm guessing a couple years or so based on just smoking one single blend.
