How Does One Smoke in the Rain Efficiently?

If I'm stuck out in the rain, I have no interest in smoking. Once I do the best I can to stay as dry as possible, button up and get out of the puddles, I'm more interested in experiencing the rain, the sound, the dynamics of the rain sheets, etc. I'll smoke when I can concentrate on that. For a light rain, the upside down pipe will do it.

umbrella and clench. Or if it's a lighter rain make a wind cap out of your hand. Either way rain isn't much of an issue with pipe smoking. Even if you don't protect it from the rain it just gets nastier but still works.
