I fold and stuff for my larger (regular) sized pipes, but for my smaller .6" diameter stackers, I prefer to fully rub it out and let it dry. There is a different flavor profile to rubbing it out, not as sweet, and you have to be more careful not to let it get too hot. But, I get more of the tangy flavors that way. I don't think there is a wrong way, ...unless of course you try to stuff it down the stem, but to each his own.
