I use the hideous sporran that came with my kilt.

I've considered using my nice tooled leather one but it's a bit bulky.

Great topic!
I use a fishing vest because of all the pockets. The top most pocket is for my pipe cleaners in their own narrow vinyl holder. Usually the pipes go in one of the top pockets as we'll. The tobacco pouch goes in one of the large pockets at waist level. Matches & pipe nail go in another waist level pocket. In colder weather, I use a jacket with lots of pockets. In winter I may use interior pockets of shirts or sweaters.

I have an old three pipe Peterson that carries enough tobacco for two weeks and room for cleaners and solution if I go away RARELY! For going out RARELY it's a one pipe Savinelli cleaners and a tamper lighter plus two Oz of tobacco in a small Ziploc so it does not absorb. GF calls me Howard Hughes or J. D. Salinger she says I'm a recluse! :puffpipe:

+1 thesmokingtexan!

OWB forward cant. Usually a .357 snubbie, sometimes a 1911 .45, and sometimes an XD 9mm, it just depends on the mood and the clothes Ike wearing.

Other times I just have a little NAA .22mag or a Baby .25acp in my pocket.
As for pipes, usually a two-pipe combo pouch w/tool and cleaners, and a small Mac Baren flake tin to hold my tobacco. Other times I'll opt for a one-pipe combo pouch.

Being fundamentally cheap, I ripped out the innards of an old zippered Day Timer. There's enough space inside for a pipe, tool, and pockets for cleaners. It also carries a nifty fold-over pouch made out some personal clan tartan material I had around. . .

+2 on the OWB with my Sig 239.
For daily pipe accompaniment I use a 2 pipe pouch and for club visits and vacation I take a 4 pipe pouch and the 2 pipe usually accompanies it. Sorry I can't find pics for them.

I have a Peterson Four Pipe pouch that does the job if I'm taking a few pipes with me somewhere. Around the house, just a small tobacco pouch will do for my flakes. Peterson, again, do a great little box pouch that folds up flat and keeps everything moist and neat. I used to use an old leather toiletry bag too, handy for keeping in the car. All these save on clothes being smelly or littered with bits of ash and tobacco!

Air tight plastic box to stop the pipes stinking out the rest of my suitcase, tins of tobacco stuffed in the big 'pocket' lining. I'd love a fancy leather bag but I think the pipes would make my clothes pong a bit!

I have a glasses case which fits my pipe, lighter, tamper tool and pipe cleaners. It's about the same size as my tobacco pouch, and then I put it in my bag.

I am of the opinion that as a pipe smoker it is incumbent on me to look the part of a proper gentleman. Therefore I carry my pipes and tobacco in the proper accouterments. Here is a pic of my 4 pipe carrier that is for a day or two.

It is a Martin Wess leather bag.

Now if I am going away for some time then I carry 7 pipes and loads of tobacco in my leather pipe briefcase which also holds my lap top and many other items if needed.

Anything less is uncivilized.

I use a camera case to carry two pipes for my daily away smokes. Its's cheaper and has more pockets than many if not most of the bags designed for tobacco pipes.
I would have also said that bigger camera bags or other re-purposed bags, e.g, shaving kits, are also better than bags specifically designed for pipes - until I saw pics of the Peterson and other bags posted here. Still, I would look at alternatives until I ponied up $100 plus for a Martin Wess.

I have a Maxpedition Fatty pocket organizer (I stole the idea from someone on another thread...), which holds several pipes easily, plus matches, a couple of lighters (Zippo, backup butane lighter), tampers, pipe tool, and some pipe cleaners.
I'm seriously considering getting another one as a 'leave at work' kit.

For everyday carry, I just use a cheap vinyl tobacco pouch with a pocket in the bottom for one pipe. I usually just toss my tamper tool in with the tobacco in the pouch.
When I am at my Civil War reenactments then I use a reproduction tobacco pouch that I made myself. The outside of the pouch is made from a period cotton shirting and inside the pouch has a leather lining to help keep the tobacco from drying out.

virginiacob that looks fantastic!

And the maxpedition pocket organizer sounds like it might be the best option for me, even if i do prefer leather.

I just ordered this while I was looking for something to put on my belt and carry a couple pipes, some bakky, etc. without carrying my backpack.

I'll report back on how it works. Seems like it will hold whatever I need, though.
