With kiss assing at work ,what is the best way to handle it? I just ignore it and the person only engage with them when it is absolutely necessary...which seems to bother them more ...I am not someone who is trying to impress someone or make myself look better, but it seems the people above my pay grade thinks they are the greatest worker and all . Now this is coming from someone that has been at their job for 20 years, and is dealing with someone just going on a year,by the way new leads and managers

The only measuring stick I used while working was "Work as hard as I do." I'm a hard worker and I expect others to put in the same effort I do. I don't want ass kissers trying to go above and beyond the scope of the job, I want you to do what you're paid to do and do it the best way possible.

Yeah but sometimes the ass kissers want to try and bring you into all off their stuff/drama, when it has NOTHING to do with you just here to get along...past time to get a check, provide for my family
I always pull those people aside and explain to them that I don't play games and that if they want to continue to try to drag me into their games then we are going to get reap familiar real quick.

Drinking heavily or other hobby. One question who is kissing what backside? If it was me that's back side was being kissed I'd eventually tell them I have a wife and while I am flattered we'd both be happier if we just forget about it.

I'm a bit confused regarding who is the kisser and who is the kissee.

As a supervisor I'm more inclined to encouragement than disparagement. I get better results from keeping the work environment positive without getting unmoored from reality.

Ass kissers don't get far here, that's mostly reserved for the "A" listers in the Biz. We're essentially factory workers. We know who can deliver the goods and who can't and that's the standard by which people get hired or sent to the corn field.

This^^^^ There are always going to be a** kissers. Always have been and always will be. There will always be drama and politics. As Sable mentioned, the folks running the business know who's capable and who are not.

My advice would be to go to your job, work hard and provide the very best service that you can to your employer and stay out of all the other crap going on. Be cordial and respectful to all those around you but stay out of the drama. Things have a way of sorting themselves out.

Being as I own the company, A/K’ing is not allowed. Do the job or move on; and trust me, my workers know this about me. But I am also sensitive to the fact that being the owner, I am looked upon as a father figure, and everyone at one time or another wants to get daddy’s attention. It is a thin tightrope balancing act. When I was employed, I never sucked up, but I did always go above and beyond to help whatever company I worked for (hence the reason I now own a business). This was in many instances construed as being a K/S by my coworkers, but it was me just being me. I say if one of your fellow coworkers is being a K/S, let him be. Everyone has their way of coping at work. The cream always rises to the top so strive to be the cream and Damn the the rest.

I've never puckered up to any sphincters or rubbed my schnoz in one either, nor am I bothered by those that do. I just do my thing... good, bad or indifferent. Whatever will be shall be.

Take it with a grain of salt and move on. If that doesn't help, drink whiskey. If that doesn't help, pray. (Maybe not necessarily in that order)

There's your answer. Myself, I simply am not concerned with co-workers unless they are adversely impacting my performance. If that happens, I involve a superior. My only concern is what my employer thinks of my job performance. Co-workers I'm not comfortable with, I ignore where possible and involve a supervisor where required.

No one likes people who spend much of their working day shining up the bosses. On the other hand, people who never call attention to their accomplishments and hard work are, in fact, often passed over. So showcase yourself in authentic, true ways. It's part of your job and your career.

We've all seen people who have become successful buttering up people up the ladder. They think that's their job, and sometimes they prove it is. I just wouldn't want to be that person.

I've found the best way to deal with booty kissing coworkers is to do my work to the best of my abilities and as efficiently as possible. Different types of people respond differently to different stimuli, that's true. But most in management terms to respond the same way to profits.
