How Do You Cut Yours?

While back I received a free 2 in 1 cutter. Now that I finally got to light up a cigar, I wondered what the second thingie was and looked it up...a V cutter! Online I also saw what looked like a fancy pair of scissor like cutters as well as a punch.

So the question gents is this, which method do you use?

I gnaw a hole. "It's ragged but, it's right." Of course you'll need to spit or, take the residue in hand and slip it, unnoticed, in to a pocket of the person standing next to you..

I use my teeth. Then again I have unusually sharp teeth so...

Back when I was buying a few cigars, I got several of those little cutters with the hole in the middle and two little finger grips, like a double guillotine, nothing fancy. They work so-so, being freebies. I have resorted to gnawing, which does the job, and if you do it right, you get to spit the gnawed morsel at the wastebasket for target practice, or emphasis.

I use my teeth mostly, if you're careful you can do it with more precision than a cutter. Plus, it's one less thing to carry.

Straight up decapitate that bitch. Whole cap, SNAP, gone. I would do it with a meat cleaver if they were easy to carry around. It's a wide open draw or the compost heap for me. Hence my affinity for Padron.

I use a sharp pocket knife and usually imitate, what a V-cutter does.

I stab a big hole in the end with whatever pointy object is at hand like a pencil or sharp stick. Sometimes I cut the tip off with my swiss army knife if it's a more expensive one.

I prefer a punch but lost mine. So use my V cutter.

Hardly smoke cigars anymore, but I prefer a sharp knife. I don’t like to take off the whole cap, just enough to get the draw I want.

Hardly smoke cigars anymore but back when I smoked them daily I used a cigar scissor that had three bent blades so the cigar got cut from all directions at once with equal pressure. On the go I would use a double sided guillotin. Oh and if it was a Cuban from the bad years giving me draft troubles I would use a thin metall spike and shove it an inch or two into the cigar.

Bought a cutter like one of these, pricy, but it works good, gear driven.

It depends on the ring gauge. < 41 Bullet or V, 42-48 V, >48 Guillotine.

I clip of about an 1/8 inch deep so the draw area is about 3/4 of the cigar diameter. I don't like v cut or bullet, hole is to small and to much of the years can gather and become rather bitter near the end. I'd use my teeth before I use those devices.
