I took my pouch, loaded with my now loathed armotic(gave the rest away to father in law) and my Peterson it its draw string pouch out yesterday for a few smokes around town, pub etc.
Worked for me, gave that gross aromatic extra drying it dearly needed too.
I'm thinking a tripple compartment pouch would be ideal. Inner part for pipe/s, outer for baccy and the other outer for lighter, cleaners etc.

That's a thread I posted a while back about a little case that I made with a belt clip.
Fair warning: It's VERY image-heavy.
But honestly, I don't use it much. Pipe in my hand, lighter and tool in my pocket, pipe cleaner behind the ear til I need it. Pack the pipe before I walk out of the house, so no baccy.
Anything longer than one bowl and I bring my sorringowl pouch.

This isn't for every day caring, but a nice looking brief case I found for traveling. Don't know if I can justify the $150 price tag for a travel case, but would like to own one one day!

Old sunglasses case?
This. A Maui Jim case can hold my pipe, a weekend's worth of baccy, and a lighter no problem. If I am just walking around with my pipe I usually pre-load my bowl and put it in my jacket or shirt pocket.
Just to follow up on this- I had an '86 Ashton with baccy and lighter in a Maui Jim case and my buddy drove over my pack accidentally- It killed my fly fishing reel, my net, and my camera. But my pipe and my sunglasses were fine. Both were in Maui Jim cases.
I do like the looks of what Fitzy posted too- looks a lot like a Smith sunglass case.

I just picked up a vest with 11 pockets in or on it. I plan to use a few of the pockets for essential pipe stuff.
On a recent visit away from my place that lasted over a week, I took an old nylon gym bag that I'd put a cardboard box inside of, and packed it full of everything, including a couple of wooden bowl like thingamabobs I use as pipe rests/collectors. I line one of them with a folded cotton place mat.

Just posted this elsewhere, a suit jacket is the way to go! A bit pricey, but the class and amount of pockets are oh so nice.

I fully agree with Tyler, a suit jacket is the way to go.
But considering I'm leaving for a two week sailing vacation next tuesday it was kind of out of the question, so today I got this little number by Big Ben which is just perfect for longer trips.

It holds a lot of pipes, the pipe holder is detachable, comes with a small detachable tobacco pouch and has pockets an zippers for everything you may need. And is made of cordura or something similar, which is great since leather was not an option for sailing.

How do you like it?
Cheers,
J
