How do others react to your pipe?

I love that my pipe reminds some people of their fathers or grandfathers. In fact I've been trying to find the blend that a friend's grandfather smoked so she can smell it again.

Sail tobacco used to have their logo in black and not white on it yes? Apparently she can recall a yellow pouch with black letters that smelled sweeter than SWR which he also smoked.

My wife has learned to deal with me and my pipe, but I get mixed reviews from others, some like it and some don't.

I normally get a positive reaction. People tend to like the smell and many start a conversation with me about my pipes and whatnot.

The vast majority of the reactions I receive are positive and/or curiosity. As for the woman throwing the pipe in the water, I will not assault a woman but can assure you that law enforcement would have been called immediately. Such people need to be taught a lesson about proper behavior in a civilized society.

I smoke a churchwarden from time to time....that always gets the odd stares, Lord of The Rings comments, of just general nods. I'm smoking a pipe for my own enjoyment so I take it with a grain of salt.

Just returned from an afternoon shopping run to Walmart and Costco with a large Oom Paul clenched. Got a bunch of approving smiles mostly from guys and stares of sheer amazement from little kids.

my experiences of the past is strikingly similiar to yours, except for the snatching pipe out of my mouth thing.Overall..Id say the reaction is positive.
