My smoking has come to a full stop as the New England temps have been in the 30s and below. I wanted to get the fire pit gong last night but it was 19F at 8:00 PM and even a good fire won’t touch that! I saw a guy on Reddit bought a polycarbonate greenhouse on Amazon and put a chair and a heater in it. I saw an 8x10 for $170. Seriously considering this.

Useful for raising early vegetables in spring, too. And you can always insulate with a layer of bubble-wrap inside.

Since the family and I were displaced due to a pipe bursting, and both bathrooms being gutted for remodel; I definitely appreciate my shop (where I regularly smoke) a whole lot more. I've sat on the porch of our AirBnB a couple times with a pipe or cigar, with a heater running at my feet, and all bundled up. Each of those times the temps were in the 40's and that was cold enough. It's definitely not my preferred way to enjoy a smoke.

Being that I have to go to our house daily to take care of our cats, bunny, tortoise and two lizards; I will hang out in the shop with the cats and have a smoke when time allows. Definitely a better way to enjoy a pipe or cigar. Kudos to all you guys/gals that have to smoke outside in the elements.

Seen photos of all-weather wall tents, like the Ozark Trail 10x12 wall tent you can buy at Walmart. For smoking a pipe outside the house, setting an electric heater next to a stool in the garage is easier, but glamping in the backyard just seems like more fun.

Yup. Tried everything to make my backyard winter experience better. After a lot of experimenting, the garage is the place.

Starting to Get Obsessed
Well, for Christmas, my wife thought she was getting me gear to where while shovelling snow! But instead, she got me gear to wear so I can smoke outside!

Our new place in Colorado does get cold, down into the teens at night and high 30s during the day sometimes, and we haven't even hit the coldest part of winter yet. But this gear is rated to -19° (and only $50 at Walmart!). I used it yesterday morning when it was 27° at 8AM and I was actually SWEATING. The nose gets cold, but I am guessing a shorter pipe will help there!

But boy, you can't beat the view from my deck!

You Canadians must just have antifreeze in your blood. I admire your cold skills, but I want no part of it. We go to the beach when it’s cold and to the mountains when it’s hot. I try to stay where the climate suits my coat. Ha ha.
They might. But imo, and I’m no expert on this, but if you grew up on the shores of Lake Superior, you got water running through your veins lol. Seriously, as a kid living in Duluth we said we had two seasons: Winter and August, and the last time I visited, that was still fairly accurate haha
