No, no it isn’t. Stereotypes of Canadians being a winter loving people are vastly exaggerated in my opinion.
They're not entirely untrue, either. I take snow and -30 °C over sunny and plus 30 any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Not to mention all the nasty bugs and critters swarming around in the summer that you just don't have to suffer in the winter.

I find it very relaxing to sit out in the cold more than the heat of summer. Both are relative since I have lived several places. In Florida, for me, most any summer day is too blasted hot to be outside for anything.
In Montana, Virginia, and Michigan I am quite at ease when the temperature even goes into the 20sF which I guess would be about -6C. I'm a winter back backer so I am right at home in the cold. If the day is windy I have a cover for my pipe. My biggest complaint is my pipes condense faster in the cold. I find sitting on the porch or out in the woods when it snows pipe smoking is quite enjoyable. In Florida it was sitting out watching thunderstorms or even hurricanes and having a relaxing bowl of my favorite tobacco.

It's not really the cold that gets me, it's the amount of time spent outside plus whether or not it's rainy and windy. 20 minutes around 45 degrees F is my upper limit before I start getting impatient and ready for the bowl to end. I work around that by using smaller pipes or stuffing paper pipes when the weather sucks. (Pacific Northwest here)

And the sun also figures into the equation. 40F in the sun is way better than 40F in the dark or rain.

I had a post last year i attached below. There are many interesting suggestions. I followed the advice from @smokeyweb buying this space suit. it works pretty well. I am living in greater Seattle area, Pacific NW.

I just don't have the gear, nor clothes to hang with you artic loving peoples. At about 50F, I have to go buy a pack of socks to wear, and dig out a coat. But, at that point we drive further South to our condo on the beach. It will stay about 80F there through the worst of the cold. I don't like wear clothes enough to be wearing layers or wrapping up to stay warm.

It isn't a temperature limit for me as much as the overall experience. In my past job, I have worked outdoors in temperatures that are best called unpleasant. When the weather demands more attention than the tobacco I am smoking - that's where I draw the line.
yep, at some point, the the returns just aren't worth the efforts.

I wear shorts until it hits about 20 (F). As long as my ears are covered I am good for smoking in that. I am not usually looking to smoke then, or just smoke in the house, generally. I will have to make an experiment of it this winter and see how cold I can go and still enjoy an outdoor smoke.

Totally agree. I move from the back porch to the garage in the winter. Even with a milk house heater going it’s too cold. If I ever get the money, I’d love to get an electrician to install a plug that can take a larger garage heater.

I admit, born and bred Canadian who can’t take the cold. Best day was when my sons were old enough to shovel the driveway.

Don’t tell my father in law… he smokes outside all year round because the weather in Toronto isn’t that cold (he grew up in SK). I mean -10C in furry crocs and a fleece is a hardcore example of the stereotype

You Canadians must just have antifreeze in your blood. I admire your cold skills, but I want no part of it. We go to the beach when it’s cold and to the mountains when it’s hot. I try to stay where the climate suits my coat. Ha ha.
