Does it go clear through? Ive got a Pete that looks holed but its just deep rustification.
Look up Rebornpipes for hints on how to fix.
Depends on how much that pipe means to you and if you want to expend the effort.

Unless it’s a high value pipe (either brand or maker, or because of sentimental reasons) I’d bin it and move on. Alternatively you could experiment with home repair but personally I wouldn’t bother.
I'd say drill out the holes
Run a cleaner smeared with Vaseline in the shank
Fill the drilled out hole with a mixture of CA glue and briar dust or a briar plug
Then you have the job of matching the rustication and stain after the fill dries up.
It might be simpler to dribble in some CA glue into the holes after first stuffing the shank with a vaselined cleaner
Some are really handy with their hands and are up to the challenge.

Seems like there was some background left out there and if you said it was returnable the answers all would have been return it.
It's the only one they had and I really like the look of it. If I can patch the hole from the inside shank easily with something Id rather keep it.
I hate to send it back; in my opinion it's a beautiful pipe. But I guess I better.
There will be another one. Might take awhile but one will surface.
