Hobby smoker.
I go for months without smoking, then I get back into it for a while like many of my hobbies. I'll smoke anywhere from zero to 7 bowls a week for a few weeks or months, then stop again. I enjoy smoking, and I like the collecting and tasting aspect as well.
I'm sure that I could get addicted, and the more I smoke, the more I want to smoke but I don't ever have the urge to smoke every day...

I love nicotine. I'm still in the process of kicking nails so a lot of my blends are of the nic ass-kick variety and coincidentally I really love the flavor of them too.
So I guess I'm addict for nicotine plus I'm a bit of a hoarder so that PAD and TAD fit that bill too. I'm addicted all the way around.

Hobby, I just had my first bowls in 4 weeks or more. I enjoy it but don't need to have it. I smoke outside and its been really hot lately so I didn't smoke any. Even at that I had about a half bowl only had 45 minutes. It's the same with cigars, they are more of a social thing.
I smoke for enjoyment over the "need for nicotine".
However, I used to smoke cigarettes, so I know what nicotine withdrawal feels like, and I do notice it occasionally inbetween pipes.

Mostly hobby/pasttime ..... meaning that I can lay down the pipe if need be, unlike when I was smoking nails and I "had" to have one. I smoke about 50g / 2 oz a week, translated in bowls that's about 5 a day average, maybe more if I smoke the cob for a quick one.
I'm addicted to the hobby. I'm not even sure i get the whole Nicotine thing.
When I get into a hobby i jump in both feet.
be it FlyFishing, bowling, motorcycles, guns....

I can be a little obsessed about the hobby, from time to time, but not addicted to Nic.
(3-4 weeknights per week I have one bowl; on weekend days sometimes 2 or 3 -- except for weeks where I go five or six days and don;t have a pipe at all.)
My only addiction is coffee. I really do feel it if I don't get coffee.

For me a Hobby, I could go weeks without smoking a pipe. I just really enjoy the downtime, smells and teh art of the pipe.
Hobby for me too. I never smoked cigarettes or chewed, and don't have a problem going days without a pipe. That said, I really enjoy the whole ritual of it, and buying new pipes. The reason I don't do cigars anymore is because they're boring - light them and you're done; I like messing with the pipe. Plus, I'm not kidding when I say I honestly believe pipe smokers tend to be better people; forgiving, accepting, non-judgemental and you can call them to pull you out of a ditch at three in the morning.
Hobby. I just don't have an addictive personality. My brain thinks too fast to rest on any one thing for too long. I love my time with my pipes and tobacco, but if, tomorrow, you took them all away, I would move on with my life. I will say that with certain tobaccos that are strong in both flavour and nicotine content, I do feel myself get hooked a little now and then. I feel for anyone hooked on cigarettes. Everything in moderation is the key to life my friends.
