Hits & misses from 2016

Hits: Several new Pipes, Haunted Bookshop, D&R Rimboche S.J.
Misses: Getting a Nording 19 off ebay with 1/8 inch deep of spiderweb in the bowl I had to scrape out. Luckily the bowl is thick with this one. First time I got bit with char on a fleabay auction. I then doubled down by buying a morta pipe with some spiderweb that I missed when I read the description. That one is on me. I should be able to fix that one too. If ever I have time.

Hit: Discovering the relaxing pleasure of pipe smoking.

Misses: PAD & TAD

Hits: GLP's blends like Gaslight, Westminster and Blackpoint with some age on them (appox. 3 years) and Bengal Slices.
Misses: I wasn't a big fan of the other Standard Tobacco issues, but they still hit it out the park with Bengal Slices.

Other than that, I bought several untried Va's which I haven't got around to yet. Been a pretty quiet year.

Since I only stumbled upon online retailers and this forum about 18 months ago, as a newbie pipe smoker, this past year has been more about reaffirming hits and misses from 2015, and seeing if I still feel the same way about certain blends as I did 'back then.' Therefore, the biggest hit might well be getting my small tobacco stash slightly deeper, and just a little bit skinnier.
