Howdy guys and dolls!
I’ve lurked this site for a long time. Decided to finally join.
Began smoking pipes around the middle of April of ‘07, after much complaining from my wife about the way I smelled after enjoying a cigar.
I soldiered through all the beginner woes: tongue bite, tamping, constant relighting - you name it.
I’m glad I did, as I now have the metaphor/analogy/similar (whatever- lol) that cigars, as good as they are, are sirloin, and pipe tobacco the finest filet mignon!

Welcome from the UK. I'm brand new to pipe smoking, but if anyone can explain, scientifically, why smoking a pipe has the effect on the smoker that it does, I'd love to hear it.
