Thanks! They were all ebay offers, kinda dirty and dinged up, none cost more than $70 or so. Fortunately I’m good at cleaning stems! I have other pipes too, but luv the calabashes best-they smoke easy and I think they‘re oddly more feminine looking than your average briar. When I’m smoking them my girls say it looks like I’m playing a musical instrument!

Welcome from Sydney, Oz.

Nice collection of calabashes. I keep mine for strong blends as I find that the increased air volume helps negate the nic-hit.

Check out the calabashes from Mimmo Provenzano - great looking pipes made from combination of different materials.

Welcome from Louisiana!
If you like straight Virginias, C&D Derringer, D&R Windsail Silver, and Newminster Superior Navy Flake are all good.
If you like VaPers, then Sutliff Match Elizabethan/Victorian, Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake, and D&R Rimboche are worth trying.

Hi Ahi Ka. Do you mind me asking if you are Maori?
Sure thing. While my wife and children are tangata whenua from Te Arawa (a Māori tribal grouping), I personally am not Māori. I’m what you would call Pākehā, Tauiwi, and Tangata Tiriti.

I am however passionate about Te Reo Māori (The Māori Language) and its normalisation.

Welcome from the Old Dominion state of Virginia! Nice calabashes. If I had to steer you to some pure Virginias, I’d say try Sutliff 515-RC, Orlik Golden Slices, Capstan Blue, Samuel Gawith Best Brown and Full Virginia Flake.

Welcome from Alberta.
If you haven't explored any English blends yet, do check out Presbyterian and G.L. Pease Gaslight or Quiet Nights.
(Presbyterian represents more of an old world English where the Pease blends are of the modern Lat-Bomb variety.)
