Northwest of Death Valley National Park and Sacrobatus Flat, not far from the California line. Thank you. I love to place people in the geography. My wife is from a disappearing town in northeast Missouri near the Iowa line and the Mississippi River. When her mom was alive, she'd say, "The population is 40, but the woman up the road just had a baby." She's trying to keep her farm in the family and out of the hands of agribusiness. The young folks just can't make it; you need a job to afford the farm. The little town remains on the map, Granger. Or as a friend joked at University of Missouri where we met, greater metropolitan Granger, since the farm wasn't right in town.
