That's awesome! Where will you be? Maybe we can meet up and make the forum a little jealous
I believe I'll be in Istanbul on or around November 20th. The only thing I have planned is a photo trip of the city before I leave the next day at the airport. We will be visiting other cities but they are booked to the heals with plans. I am always up for a bit of coffee and a smoke.

Our vacation home is decorated in a Moroccan/Bohemian decor, with many of the lamps actually coming from Turkey. This is more of an exploratory trip before we decide to return for a more in-depth visit. I suppose I should get some Latakia while I am in Cyprus. Who knows?

I'm really glad! It seems like there's still some time, but I'll definitely keep it in mind and reach out to you. I know the best places for Turkish coffee and Turkish delight :D

Welcome from Turkey, the land of Meerschaum, Pipesmagazine is great place!

And we have @Said.ALTINAY from Altinay pipes here, maybe Said lives close to you.

Just doesn’t seem right to be Turkish, smoke a pipe, and don’t own a Meerschaum. LOL 😆

Hello Pipers,

My name is Hakan. I've been using a pipe for a long time, but it was an occasional habit. However, recently I've been increasing my pipe collection, reducing cigarettes, and smoking a pipe a bit more often.

I'm 30 years old. I have a shop on ETSY where I sell silver jewelry. I'm also a writer and a musician.

That's all I have to say. May your smoke be cool. :)

PS: My English is not very good. I will use a bit of translation and might make some nonsense. 🙃
Welcome from an American in Japan!

I've always wanted to spend time in the Hagia Sophia and environs. Maybe it'll happen!
If so, what tobaccos available in the US interest you?
Hagia Sophia used to be a museum, but they converted it into a mosque. So now, we can't see many of the important things in Hagia Sophia anymore. (Bullshit) However, the Topkapi Palace is a magnificent museum and its texture is still preserved. I hope one day you can visit these places. In Balat (Fener), Kadikoy, and the surrounding areas, there are many historical places that nobody knows about.

There are many tobaccos I'd like to try in the US (or around the world). I can list them like this:

Peterson: Early Morning Pipe
Peterson: Nightcap

Cornell & Diehl: Corn Cob Pipe
Cornell & Diehl: Afternoon Delight
Cornell & Diehl: Byzantium
Cornell & Diehl: Old Joe Krantz (Any Label)

Rattray - Hal O' the Wynd
Mac Baren - Plumcake

The list goes on and on :)

Oh, and since I am (or any member here) asking for a URL to your Etsy site, please post!

Of course. It's still quite new, only a few months old. Because of this, I had to learn photography and how to use Photoshop. I'm entirely on my own :D

Halloween is coming, so I've organized the store and offered a strong discount for it. Sales are still low, but I'm working on increasing them.

Also, thank you very much for your interest.

And my book will be released soon.110 pages, in the psychological thriller, murder, and mystery genres. Although the reading rate is quite low in Turkey, perhaps it could be translated into English in the future. It's been sitting on my computer for four years :)

They're very beautiful. However, it never really piqued my interest until now. I suppose if one day I decide I'm not just a pipe smoker but a pipe collector, I might consider getting one.

You are a man of many talents!

You mentioned music in your intro. What do you play? Do you write music as well?
Time has progressed a bit strangely for me :) Well, of course. I played the guitar for about nine years and received vocal training for six years (private lessons from Licinio Montefusco's student). I'm a dramatic tenor, but I didn't pursue opera singing (it wasn't quite feasible in Turkey, and I never had the means to go through the application process with an agency in Europe). I performed on many stages in Istanbul for a long time with a repertoire of classic rock and hard rock songs, and I have more than three hundred original compositions.

Currently, I need to focus more on trade and making money (crypto and stock investments, a bit of trading, and e-commerce). The music industry in Turkey is very limited and insufficient. I need this to finance myself. Besides, finding an investor to create the music I want is nearly impossible.

Literature is a somewhat more comfortable field. I've been writing since I was twelve, and I have a book of poems in addition to a novel.

Below, I'm leaving a cover and an original composition. I co-wrote the lyrics in English with a friend, and I have no idea how good they are. One of my main goals is to elevate my English to the level where I can write a text like this without the need for translation assistance. Well, I guess that's all. And also, thank you very much to everyone for this warm welcome.

@ThePiperBadik would you happen to have access to the tobaccos from Gladora Tobacco or Bosphorus?

I would be eager to set up a trade with your for whatever you'd be interested in obtaining in exchange.

Of course. I use Bosphorus tobaccos and I'm really pleased with them. The old 'Yayladağ' formula is now labeled as Gladora YD. The one called TPT is 'Turkish Pipe Tobacco.' I've tried them and they were quite good. However, I'm not sure how they perform under the name Gladora.

Let's definitely stay in touch. There are plenty of tobaccos I'd like to try, and I can easily source these tobaccos for you.
