I've been lurking for a bit...Recently retired and started smoking a pipe. I've accumulated about 15 pipes in the last month along with about 20 different tobaccos. I've been reading and learning and experimenting. I enjoy learning about different pipe types, bowl shapes and tobacco blends. The first pipe I purchased was a Missouri Meerschaum country gentleman...I now have 5 different MM's.

I've also purchased some refurbed estate pipes from ebay...Jensen, kaywoodie, wally frank, dr. grabow etc.

I will eventually buy my first new quality briar pipe once I determine what I might want.

I'm enjoying it. A cup of tea and a bowl in the morning is a nice way to start the day...and a bowl in the evening to relax and wind down. maybe a bowl or two during the day depending on what I'm doing.

Lots of knowledge here and I've learned alot!

Hey from central North Carolina. I spent some time in Michigan as a teenager camping on a family farm that had an old house with no electricity or running water, sandy soil and a bone-chilling creek, pronounced crick by locals. It is northeast of Muskegon near a little crossroads town called Holton which may or may not still have a general store. People there were good to us, me and a buddy, and one elderly woman invited us down to her place for pie and milk and hushed us to hear her whippoorwill in the quiet evening air. Dairy cows there mostly, and now Christmas tree farms. My dad's family had an old horse named Bill who'd pull a wagon to town for groceries, then pause at the bottom of the hill and wait until he had his breath before climbing back up to the farmhouse. The family always let him rest. Welcome aboard.
