Welcome!

It is very common for new pipe smokers to smoke 'hot'. Keep working on sipping and barely keeping the pipe lit. Don't worry if you have to relight, we all do.

Hey Alex. I am from Mount Lebanon actually. Living in the Metn District.Never
Never been in Lebanon but I know people from the mountain regions which is north of Beirut and fortunately spared by the bad events happening in these days in Lebanon. One day I will visit Beirut and the mountain region.
Stay safe and happy piping.

Yea, this is what I am trying to learn. I am having to relight 6+ times though. Maybe the packing is too tight or the tobacco too moist, or something else caused by the pipe. I don't know. Will learn from experience.

Thank you for the support :)

Only 6 times, still doing well. Don't worry about the relights.

Hi, I would like to say hello from Lebanon. I am new to this hobby. I recently got myself into pipe smoking.
Marhaba- Welcome!
It's interesting writing to you because you are from Lebanon, and Oriental blends from places like Turkey, Lebanon, Cyprus are so famous. What do you think about that? Is "Oriental Leaf" and preparation the typical way that people have smoked tobacco in Lebanon for generations?

Dear Rakovsky,

Well I honestly don't feel informed enough to be able to reply with exactitude. My understanding is that we in Lebanon have a good tobacco plant/leaf and we grow some of the best. The preparation is typically the same (from my understanding) but this is regarding the leaf preparation cigarette blends. I don't know if we positively prepare for pipe tobacco. At least up till now I haven't seen any locally produced pipe tobacco sold anywhere. The tobacco is usually sold to the government for cigarettes.
