Hello Guys, I'm Korean Piper, I found this Fantastic Forum while studying Puffing Skills.
I'v been smoke the pipe since 2014, but I rarely, barely Can Taste the Tobacco.
In Korea, Only the Poor Information of Pipe and Tobacco. I'll Study the Pipe from the Zero with this forum.

Oh, I forgot to write that. I Love Virginia (SG's FVF, Golden Glow, Dunhill Flake...) and Latakia (SG's Balkan, Bothy Flake, C&D's Star of the East)

In my experience, the SG stuff all needs a long dry time. Also smoking slow brings out the flavour but I am surprised that you are barely getting tobacco taste from balkan flake and star of the east, they are fairly strong flavoured blends in my opinion...

with my dull tongue and Hot Smoking, Even balkan flake and star of the east. It's hard to Taste that.

Are you cleansing your palate? you can't go straight from kimchi to tobacco! haha I am a big fan of kimchi by the way.

Oh, Cleansing my palate! Today I found that! I've cleaned my mouth with Listerine!
(It's good for heal the tongue bite, right? and I'm allergic to Burley.)
Usually I smoke the pipe after brush my teeth.
and Yeah, Kimchi is very good! and It's digestible food, as you know.
