I really like the Vauen pipes. I had never used them before. I tried some Brighams. Never again. Too much of a pain in the ass. I have some old Peterson pipes
That smoke great. I generally smoke Capt Black product line but lately trying some of that German Kohlhase & Kopf flavors. This Caribbean Blue they sell is great.
That is precisely why we plan these meet ups when Yale University is on break. From 11am to noon there were 4 of us, and about that many other patrons. We left around 6pm and it was full then, but not smoky . One of us is a regular there and says that Yale being on break makes a big difference in the crowd.
Do you like the Vauens partially because they are filtered pipes? Seems like filtered pipes are less common here in the US but they also seem to be on the rise.
Much of what I learned of pipes and tobacco I picked up by frequenting Chief Catoonah, a B&M pipe shop in Ridgefield, CT. The late Dick Silverman, proprietor. I lived in Danbury at the time. Those were my pipe smoking "golden years." Welcome aboard....!

I’m in Farmington and work in Hartford. I just joined the Facebook group that meets at the Tobacco Shop. I’ve been a cigar patron there for years.
