I’m in Farmington and work in Hartford. I just joined the Facebook group that meets at the Tobacco Shop. I’ve been a cigar patron there for years.

Do you like the Vauens partially because they are filtered pipes? Seems like filtered pipes are less common here in the US but they also seem to be on the rise.

Well I started with Dr Grabow as a kid so used filters. I still have that pipe bought in 1979 for probably $20! That being said I stopped using filters for a number of years but recently have gone back. I am really sold on the Vauens.

That is precisely why we plan these meet ups when Yale University is on break. From 11am to noon there were 4 of us, and about that many other patrons. We left around 6pm and it was full then, but not smoky . One of us is a regular there and says that Yale being on break makes a big difference in the crowd.

Yeah. The place gets too packed with kids.
