No regrets so far. When I've culled the herd, I've always gotten some satisfaction, giving pipes to active duty military overseas or trading them for store credit, pipes I wasn't smoking traded for credit on a pipes I carefully selected and smoke a lot. I've never outright trashed a pipe, always feeling I got more out of them donating, gifting, or trading for store credit. One group I gave to a friend, former Lucky Strike chain smoker, who wanted them for decor rather than smoking, which sounded okay for his first house ever.

I like the Meerschaum. If it is your only Meerschaum, I'd keep it. Otherwise, it's just a question of how often you will smoke it.

in 1998 I was travelling on a bicycle across Canada and I met a group of fun people and spent a weekend partying at the mountain lake at their cabin somewhere in British Columbia...One guy gave me a watch...so the only thing I could return a favor with was to give him my pipe...i did not mind at first but as years went by sometimes I wanted to look at that pipe for a minute to check ho made it or just remind me...But really never regret it..He was a Native a told me he was planning to smoke it...I was happy about it....

I sold this cased pair of Peterson pipes a while back after having owned them for many years. I miss them, but they weren't right for me. I'm a little rough on pipes and often smoke while I'm working outside. These were just too dang nice for me, and were better off with a collector (which I'm trying hard not to be!)

I don't expect to see their like anytime again soon. And if I did I probably couldn't afford them :)

I have never sold a pipe from my personal collection, and I don't really cull. Sometimes I will pass an underused pipe along to someone who I know will love it. I have no regrets there because it is always a gift from the heart. I regret selling some pipes that were never even mine to begin with on the retail side, which only confirms why I've never sold my personal pipes.

I gifted several slightly used Irish Seconds, Comoys, and a Firenze to relatives many years ago ... no regrets but lately I have thought about trying the Comoy large tomato with long stem again ... 'my precious' ...

I always think I will regret selling a pipe and that feeling never actually comes. A pipe's shape and size matter but the next pipe that you start using in general grows on you, especially with good tobacco.

So far, no, I don’t regret any sale. I think I have sold over 20 for store credit to Smoking Pipes and Blue Room Briars over several years. I always upgrade my collection or add to my cellar.

no sold one pipe. Regret needing the cash. But I am happy to know that pipe went to some one that can enjoy it more then I was willing to let myself. I'd almost get ready to smoke it and then feel too uncomfortable to be able to really enjoy the smoke so I'd wait.... Then needed the cash sold the pipe here was super happy with how it went and knowing it's in a good home.
Yes I'd regret selling a pipe to someone who really wasn't going to appreciate it. And for it to be worth selling it have to be worth a bit so....
