As far back as I can remember, if I walked into a room, who do I want to set next to and have fun? The guy who is a great listener, thoughtful, considerate, smiles and nods…. Or, the asshole who makes fun of everyone?

I’ll set next to the asshole, every time, and have a great time. Nice warm souls full of compassion bore the shit out of me. puffy
Now you’re trolling ?

And thank you. I was totally unsure what the the OP was asking with regard to "digressing." I've "gone off the tracks" once or twice, digressing from my chosen path but, I'm pretty sure that's wasn't what the OP was asking.
Sometimes I don’t even know what the tracks are. “Am I digressing?” “What is digressing?” I bet it has something to do with having to get up eight times in the night to piss. puffy

Folks who often digress seldom think about it, much less ask that question of others!

I dunno- has this thread regressed too much? any passionate feelings not expressed?

So, I did see that yellow-tailed bill hawk fly by my house....but, I digress....

I know that feeling. At the time I was kneeling on the guy's chest, feeding a fully charged paint roller down his throat, when three guys pulled me off of him. I was in full beserker mode. I'm MUCH nicer now.

That's another part of getting older, you get pickier about the nature of the shit that actually matters.
Exactly so.

Yes, still early on into my thirties and am now in the mindset of charity starts at home, all that matters is my little nest etc.
This last year has opened my eyes to a lot of bullshit, mostly from politics and media, and society in general.
The rate I'm going I'll be a full blown curmudgeon in about 10 years.
Starting to wish it were sooner come to think of it, still too much 'Mr Nice Guy'.
Kindness costs nothing.

I've been able to curb my anger given an 8 year oft-times bitter struggle. But through reason and being able to see what I contributed to the dispute, one by one the issues upon which my anger was fueled have been let go.

When I have a dispute now I am very aware that any further venting of my anger will do nothing but make them angry once more, which I will have to withstand. So l neither support theirs or my renewed anger. Angry rebuttals will do no good. Plus the more I work the situation virtually the longer I suffer. So no holding on.

If I don't want to go through that bitter inner repast longer, or again, the answer is simple. I can walk away and keep my mouth shut.

Lately my anger turns out to be control. How lame and stupid and backward is control's expression. It never works.
