I've sent a few pipes to SP for store credit. It was well worth it to me rather than using eBay. It was quick and simple.
(@hoosierpipeguy) I saw a listing here this year when you offered some beautiful pipes at fair and even, great prices, Mark. And I liked your approach--offering the pipes here at a superb price or value before sending them off to another seller. I forgot all about this until I saw your post above. Thanks for responding, Buddy and Merry Christmas (to You, and to All).I would still them here at a very reasonable price. You should make as much,if not a little more, than by sending them into SP. Let the sale run for 3 days then ship everything at once.
Yes, I have to admit shipping rates from old continent to the US are rather high, but I'm understanding one could probably consider sending them pipes to the SPC's Irish branch as wellI'm in the UK so it might cost me more to send the pipes than I'd get for them...
I've only got 2 non clay pipes and hardly ever use them!
@PaulTheScandinavian I'll probably try selling one or two of my pipes on eBay or one of the other pre-owned websites / apps then!Yes, I have to admit shipping rates from old continent to the US are rather high, but I'm understanding one could send them pipes to the SPC's Irish branch as well
Good luck to You Sir,as for the undersigned, I have had rather unsatisfactory results with selling my estates on the Ebay ,despite the fact that those ones were far from being basket pipes@PaulTheScandinavian I'll probably try selling one or two of my pipes on eBay or one of the other pre-owned websites / apps then!
@PaulTheScandinavian I would sell the pipes on Smokingpipes.com but feel it could cost more in shipping than I'd get for the pipes...Good luck to You Sir,as for the undersigned, I have had rather unsatisfactory results with selling my estates on the Ebay ,despite the fact that those ones were far from being basket pipes
For pipemakers who only release new pipes intermittently it's very good to keep a record of sold pipes, it's not necessarily even of benefit to the retailer hosting the old listings, but it provides a catalog of sorts to get a feel for what a given pipemaker may offer.Boy howdy! It irks me so bad when I enter a search on some sites and get a bunch of responses that are displayed as "sold" or "out of stock." There is even a search option on one particular site for selecting "in stock" and "out of stock" pipes. Seriously? Why in the world would I want to know what you don't have when I'm looking to purchase something?
Like you said... wake up pipe dealers. This is the digital age.
Did the same. Always been a smooth, easy process.Yep. You’ll have to determine for yourself if you think what they offer is worth it, but for me it was. I traded in about 4 or 5 pipes this year and stocked up on some tobacco. The pipes were just collecting dust and no longer being smoked.
I completely restored my two pipes I bought at a antique store. How much effort are you guys putting in to cleaning/preparing your pipes before sending off to SP? Do you feel it will make a big enough difference?
