I understand your sentiment and initially felt the same way.Boy howdy! It irks me so bad when I enter a search on some sites and get a bunch of responses that are displayed as "sold" or "out of stock." There is even a search option on one particular site for selecting "in stock" and "out of stock" pipes. Seriously? Why in the world would I want to know what you don't have when I'm looking to purchase something?
Like you said... wake up pipe dealers. This is the digital age.
On the other hand, I can see some value in looking at the sold pipes of sales gone by - IF, and ONLY IF, they have the sales prices listed.
That can go a long way toward my edumacation on pipe values.
