A good friend, who also enjoys a good smoke, gave me a gift recently that he picked up at an antique store. It touches on two of my interests: Horses and Pipes.....
The pipe holder is a cavalry stirrup mounted on a wooden base. Very cool...
The pipe itself is an old "Storm King" pipe which is a brand that I am not familiar with. It is a billiard shape with a wind cap. It has seen considerable use but overall is in good shape. Please see in the pictures below for more detail.
I do see the name of the brand "Storm King" and then on the stem there is an image of a small crown. On the other side the shank says, "Century Old" imported briar.
I am not familiar with this brand and if anyone knows anything about it, I would appreciate it if you would share your knowledge.
