I agree with lonestar, we better keep this quiet until we stock up!
@Hobie- If the sampler doesn't have Quiet Nights in it let me know and I will send some to you!

sounds great, now I've been salivating all day thinking about the possibility of Quiet Nights becoming a match so close that when blindfolded, there's no discernable difference between the two. :puffy: And Quiet Nights comes in 8 oz tins I believe.
Bubba: When the USPS knocks at your door soon, I want a video of you doing cartwheels across the parking lot.
BTW: When IS your Birthday?

Going with a different blend but same topic, I was wondering if there are any equivalents to Dunhill's Early Morning Pipe or Nightcap? I know they recently came back but they're still hard to find places that have them in stock. Any suggestions?

Hmm. I'd never heard of a "match" for my beloved Penzance. I guess I'll have to try Quiet Nights.
One match that I have found: It had been years since I smoked any Dunhill's 965, but as soon as I lit up that free sample of Sutliff's No.5 that I got in the mail, I said "965!"
It must be close if it conjured up such a memory from years before that I wasn't even expecting.

I don't know where you fellas are getting bottom of the bowl goop from the Ten To midnight. I haven't had any problem. Just about to crack a tin of Quiet Nights though! :puffy:

Hey guys: A heads-up from a brother. Get in touch with Jack Peterson of Sterling Tobacco Co. Tell him you want to try a Penzance substitute, sit back and smoke what he sends you. Then, tell us what you think. Just a little secret among us, at least, for the time being. Shussh!

So now we have multiple Penzance clones, anyone up for a shootout/comparison test?
Quiet Nights- a "dead ringer"

American Patriot (sorry, I think that's a really lame name)but a sample is on the way

Old Ironsides

Ten to Midnight (I tried this and it's not in the same ballpark to me)

The news is now out and public. Jack Peterson has released the new custom blend he created at my personal request. I have named it American Patriot and it now headlines his 1776 blend line. You can read a description of it in another post by brother Chuck Lano-Bucklin. It is a dead ringer for Penzance and it is absolutely the best smoke ever. You will be amazed at how really great it is. No further need to hoard Penzance and no problem with future availability. No need to worry any more. We Americans take care of our own business right here in the good ol' USA! Live large and billow grandly, always!

Looks like we will need a consensus that it is a "dead ringer"...that's a pretty strong term to use....but I like it. Thanks for all your work on it. :worship:

Hobie1dog: "1776 American Patriot"....get used to the name. As soon as you try your sample I can assure you that the name will be rolling off your tongue with frequency. It is unbelieveable!
